MOVIES REVIEWER

I just attended the advance press premiere of this UTTERLY ASININE DUMB re-imagined/re-make of the classic TV series . I sat through the entire 93-min utterly bored to my eye-balls. Will Ferrell is indeed a hit-or-miss - and LAND OF THE LOST missed - BIG time. The plot is juvenile-silly - devoid of any redemptive qualities - and the humor, sophomoric. CGI was below average and the entire production was JUNK. LAND OF THE LOST - is the WORST most reviled movie I've watched this year. To those folks that HAVE NOT watched this movie yet gave this movie a 'GO' or 'MUST GO' - how in the world could anyone actually rate movies that they HAVEN'T watched yet???

What part of PG-13 don't you people understand!?!?! It means for teenagers not for little ten year olds! The movie was good and it had some funny parts and some not so funny parts. I heard alot of people complaining about the swearing because they had little kids there. What do you expect a PG-13 movie to have??? If you want a movie for them go to walmart and get spongebob or something! Grow a brain people.

Before I begin this let me say that I am an award winning college filmmaker and an avid movie goer. I went into LOTL with little expectations thinking it would be another chance for Will Ferrell to prove he still is funny. If you did not like STEP BROTHERS then I suggest you stop reading this review now. Just like Step Brothers this movie BLEW ME OUT OF THE WATER. My sides hurt I was laughing so hard. I left the movie thinking that LOTL might have actually possibly been funnier than that of The Hangover. Will Ferrell is absolutely hilarious and his co star Danny McBride is possibly just as funny as Ferrell. Now mind you that I had very little interest in the original Land Of The Lost and knew barely any thing about it. This movie is perfect for teens and up...it is not a little kids movie.

I am amazed at how so many of the negative reviews for this movie start with something like "I am not Will Ferrell fan." I have only one question for these folks...why did you go to a Will Ferrell movie then?? Afterall you wouldn't order a chicken sandwich at a restaurant and then complain in a review that it didn't taste like steak!! If you don't know what you're getting with Will Ferrell by now, you never will!! Will does low brow, slap stick, double entendre type comedy with hits and misses along the way. If you went thinking you're were going to see a "Best Actor" or "Best Movie" nominee you are a sad, sad person.

THIS IS NOT A MOVIE FOR KIDS. R - RATING WOULD BE MORE APPROPRIATE. Lots of bad language throughout, tons of adult humor.I took my 3 young boys to see this as they are dinosaur fans and left feeling like the worse mother on the planet. Lets see, my 7 year old only seems to recall the weird monkey constantly grabbing the "pretty" girls boobs, my 9 year old keeps repeating "Matt Lauer can Suck it" and informed me he thought the part where they say (over and over) "tap that ***" was hilarious, my 6 year old inquired during the movie why they called the dinosaur a P*s*y - and asked me what did that mean! (I said, Honey I have NO idea :) ) I would have found those moments in the movie funny had I not had my kids there. Seemed like a family movie by the previews. My fault for not researching it more first - I learned my lesson. Also, I never watched the show so I had zero expectations. Overall, a funny movie worthy of more than a few laughs - but for the grown up crowd.
